ABS Prosthetic Arm

Background

The intent of the design is to act as a cost-effective, eco-friendly solution to aid amputees with day-to-day activities. This passion project acted as my introduction to the world of robotics and biomechanics.

Electrical systems in this assembly involve a MyoWare muscle sensor, a Arduino Nano Board and Expansion Board, a rechargeable battery pack, and two 120 degree, large torque servos (1 for the thumb and 1 for the other 4 fingers). The code for this project opens and closes based on your own muscle sensor value, with the MyoWare sensor attached to pin A3 of the Arduino.
